Shareholder Candis Trusty with the law firm of Markowitz Ringel Trusty + Hartog, has been selected to receive a 2024 Florida Legal Award in the Lifetime Achievement category from the Daily Business Review/Law.com, in recognition of her outstanding work and pro bono contributions in South Florida.
According to Trusty, elder law fraud in the community continues to rise due to the increase in mental illness, the impact of the pandemic and Florida’s aging population, much of which affects women. The elderly and disabled in our society, who she represents, are vulnerable and often taken advantage of by others, including their own family members.
